ClipItX respects intellectual-property rights and expects its users to do the same. Users warrant in our Terms of Service that they hold the rights to everything they upload or link for processing. This page explains how rights holders can report infringing content hosted or processed by ClipItX, and how affected users can respond.

1. Designated agent

Send copyright notices to our designated agent:

2. Filing a takedown notice

To be actionable, your notice must include:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed (or a representative list if there are many).
  2. Identification of the allegedly infringing material and enough information for us to locate it — a URL, a video/clip ID from the ClipItX app, or equivalent.
  3. Your name, address, telephone number and email address.
  4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

On receiving a valid notice we will remove or disable access to the material promptly, notify the user who uploaded it, and provide them with a copy of the notice. Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing can make you liable for damages.

3. Counter-notice

If your content was removed and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address, including:

  1. Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal.
  2. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  3. Your name, address and email, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the competent courts (see Section 5) and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.
  4. Your physical or electronic signature.

We will forward a valid counter-notice to the original complainant. Unless they inform us within 10–14 business days that they have sought a court order against you, we may restore the removed material.

4. Repeat infringers

We track valid infringement notices against accounts. We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers, and we may remove content and suspend features (such as publishing to connected platforms) before that point.

5. India intermediary compliance

ClipItX is operated from India and acts as an intermediary with respect to user-provided content. This policy and our grievance handling are intended to comply with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, and the Copyright Act, 1957 (including Section 52(1)(c)) and the Copyright Rules, 2013. Complaints under Indian law may be sent to the same designated agent in Section 1 and will be acknowledged and acted upon within the timelines those rules require. Where a takedown under the Copyright Act is not followed by a court order within the statutory period, access to the content may be restored.
