Introduction

ClipItX is operated by ClipItX, a sole proprietorship operated by Janaki Kalyani Bandaru, based in India ("ClipItX", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the ClipItX website and dashboard, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using ClipItX you agree to the practices described here.

ClipItX is built privacy-first. Your uploads and creations belong to you, we collect only what we need to run the Service, and we never sell your data. Your raw footage is never used to train any model unless you opt in. To improve clip selection, our own models may learn from derived signals such as transcripts, audio and visual features, and the performance of posts you publish through ClipItX. Data we receive from Google APIs (including YouTube channel data and YouTube Analytics) is never used for this training, or to train any other AI or machine-learning model.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

  • Name, email address, profile photo, and sign-in credentials when you sign up with email and password, Google, or Apple (managed through Firebase Authentication)
  • Profile details such as your avatar and preferences
  • Plan, token balance, and billing status (payment card details are handled by our Merchant of Record and never stored by us)
  • Support messages and communication history

Content You Provide

  • Videos, audio, images, scripts, and prompts you upload or link for processing (when you paste a link, we fetch that video from its host to process it)
  • Photos and descriptions you provide to create characters or AI influencers
  • Voice recordings you submit for voice features (only with the consent described in our Terms)
  • Generated output: clips, shorts, transcripts, thumbnails, and voiceovers stored in your library

Connected Social Accounts

When you connect YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, or Reddit, we receive the account identifiers, channel/profile metadata, and analytics those platforms make available, and the authorization tokens needed to publish on your behalf. Tokens are stored encrypted. You can disconnect an account at any time in Settings, which deletes the stored tokens; you can also revoke access from the platform's own settings (see Sections 4 and 5).

Usage & Device Information

  • IP address, browser type, and operating system
  • Pages viewed, features used, and job/render activity (used for token accounting and abuse prevention)
  • Cookies and browser storage used only to keep you signed in and remember preferences (such as theme); you can control these in your browser settings
  • A bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile) on sign-up and sign-in, which processes technical signals from your browser to block automated abuse

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or third-party analytics in the app, so no consent banner is shown. If that changes, we will ask for your consent first.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide the Service: transcribe, analyze, clip, render, store, and publish your content as you direct
  • Operate your account, token balance, and subscription, and process payments through our Merchant of Record
  • Send service communications (job status, billing, security, and policy notices)
  • Prevent fraud, enforce usage limits, and protect the Service and other users
  • Debug problems and improve features and reliability
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your raw uploaded footage to train AI models unless you opt in; our own clip-selection models may learn from derived signals as described in the Introduction.

3. Service Providers We Share Data With

ClipItX runs on a small set of infrastructure and AI providers that process data on our behalf, only as needed to deliver the Service:

  • Kelviq (with Stripe as underlying processor): Merchant of Record: payments, invoicing, and tax handling
  • OpenAI: transcription, transcript analysis, clip scoring, image generation, script and text generation
  • Google (Gemini API): video and transcript analysis for clip selection and media matching
  • OpenRouter: routes certain text and vision requests to third-party AI models
  • Groq: speech-to-text transcription
  • ElevenLabs: voice generation and voice-clone features
  • Microsoft (Edge text-to-speech): standard voiceover generation (script text only)
  • fal.ai: AI image and video generation
  • Cloudflare: R2 storage of your uploads and generated media, app hosting and content delivery, AI image generation (Workers AI), and bot protection (Turnstile)
  • Firebase (Google): authentication and account management
  • Railway: backend hosting, database, and processing infrastructure
  • Composio: manages the Instagram connection and publishing on our behalf
  • YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Reddit APIs: sign-in, publishing, and analytics for the accounts you connect
  • Pexels, Pixabay, and similar stock libraries: we send search terms (never your personal data) to find stock footage and images

Some processing (such as clip scoring) may also run on hardware that ClipItX owns and operates. We use an internal team notification when a new account is created, which contains your name and a masked email address.

Certain AI models and features in ClipItX are served by external cloud providers rather than on infrastructure we operate. When you use one of these features, only the data needed to complete that request is sent to the provider, which processes it on our behalf under its business terms. The provider list above may change as we add or move models, and we will keep this section current.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of users, or as part of a business transfer, never for third-party marketing. If you choose to share a project publicly (for example on the Community page or with a share link), anyone who can open it can see that content.

4. Google API Services: Limited Use

ClipItX's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We access Google user data (such as your Google sign-in profile and, where you connect a channel, YouTube data) only to provide the features you request, and we never sell it or use it for advertising.

When you connect a YouTube channel we request: YouTube upload access (to publish videos to your own channel when you click Post or on a schedule you set up in Autopilot), YouTube read-only access (to list your channel's videos in your dashboard), and YouTube Analytics read-only access (to show your channel's performance in your dashboard). We do not transfer this data to others except the service providers needed to run these features, we do not let humans read it except with your consent, for security, or where required by law, and we do not use it to train AI models.

ClipItX uses YouTube API Services. By connecting a YouTube account you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. You can disconnect YouTube at any time in Settings, which deletes the stored authorization tokens, or revoke ClipItX's access through the Google security settings page. Stored YouTube data is deleted within 30 days of disconnecting or deleting your account.

5. TikTok, Instagram, and Reddit

When you connect TikTok we request your basic profile and permission to list and publish videos to your own account. When you connect Instagram we request your profile and media access so we can publish to and show your own account. Reddit connections request your account identity only. We use this data only to provide publishing and analytics for your own accounts, under the TikTok Terms of Service and Meta Platform Terms. You can disconnect in Settings or revoke access in the platform's own app settings. To ask us to delete data we received from Instagram or Facebook, disconnect the account or email [email protected]; Meta's data-deletion callback is also supported.

6. Data Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Media is kept for shorter, fixed periods to keep storage manageable:

  • Source videos you upload or link for clipping are usually deleted right after processing
  • AI Clipping jobs, including their clips and renders, are deleted automatically 60 days after the job completes, so download anything you want to keep
  • Temporary editor uploads are deleted after 7 days
  • When you delete individual content, it is removed from your library and purged from active storage

When you delete your account, it is first scheduled for deletion. For 7 days you can sign back in to restore it. After that, we delete your personal data and stored content within 30 days, except for records we must keep longer for legal, billing, or fraud-prevention purposes (kept only as long as required). If you answer the optional exit survey when deleting your account, we may keep those answers to improve the Service. Backup copies expire on a rolling basis within the same window.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Delete your account and associated data (available directly in Settings)
  • Export your content and data in a portable format
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (e.g., disconnecting a social account)

You can download your clips and videos from your library at any time. To exercise any other right, including a copy of your account data, use the controls in Settings or email us at [email protected] from your account email. We respond to verified requests within 30 days, or sooner where applicable law requires. California residents: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

8. Data Security

We protect your data with industry-standard measures: encryption in transit, access-controlled storage, scoped API credentials, and isolation between users' content. Payment card data is handled entirely by our Merchant of Record and never touches our servers. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you as required by law.

9. International Transfers

ClipItX is operated from India, and the providers listed in Section 3 process data in the United States, the European Union, and other regions. Wherever your data is processed, we require our providers to protect it consistently with this policy and applicable data-protection law.

10. Children's Privacy

ClipItX is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country, such as 16 in parts of the EU), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Users under 18 may only use ClipItX through an account opened and held by a parent or legal guardian, as described in our Terms. If we learn that a child under the minimum age has provided personal information, we will delete it and close the account.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes we will notify you by email or an in-app notice before they take effect, and we always update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use ClipItX after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
