AI caption generator

Automatic captions for every clip

Plenty of people scroll with the sound off. ClipItX transcribes your clips and burns in word-by-word captions in one of 60 styles, then lets you fix any word before you post.

Every caption style is on every plan, including Free.

How captioning works

  1. Add a video. Paste a YouTube link or upload an MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM file up to 2 GB.
  2. Pick a caption style. Choose from 60 styles before the job starts. You can switch later.
  3. ClipItX transcribes and times every word. Each word is timed to the speech, and reaction captions add moments like [laughs] and [applause].
  4. Fix and re-render. Click any word to correct it, or change the style or size, and the clip re-renders with your changes.

Seven families, 60 styles

Karaoke (19)

The line stays on screen and the spoken word lights up. A safe default for talking heads.

Word pop (7)

One big word at a time, for fast, high-energy clips.

Highlight and panel (12)

Boxes, pills and plates behind the words, which keep captions readable over busy backgrounds.

Native (6)

Plain, platform-style captions for clips that should feel like a regular post.

Kinetic (4) and Comic (10)

Words that slam or move in, and comic-book panels, stickers and halftones.

Typewriter (2)

Monospaced text with a cursor, for storytelling and quotes.

Choosing a caption style

Match the style to the speaker, not to a trend. Calm, thoughtful content such as lectures, sermons and interviews reads best with karaoke or native captions, where whole lines stay up long enough to read. Fast talkers and comedy suit word pop or kinetic styles, where each word lands on the beat. If your footage is busy, with patterned shirts, bright sets or screen recordings, a highlight or panel style puts a plate behind the words so they stay legible.

Get the words right

Automatic transcription is good, but names, brands and jargon are where it slips. Before you post, scan for those and click any word to fix it. It takes seconds and it is the difference between a clip that looks professional and one that doesn't.

Reaction captions

Reaction captions add sounds like [laughs], [gasps] and [applause] to the transcript. They are on by default and help comedy and live audiences come through with the sound off. Turn them off for clips where they would distract.

Captions on AI Shorts too

Shorts you make from a topic or a script with the AI Shorts generator get word-by-word captions timed to the voiceover, using the same styles.
